Irish biscuit maker Jacob Fruitfield is reported to be in negotiations with Valeo Foods about a merger to create a foods business with a turnover of €300m, according to media reports.
The talks have been going on for several months and are close to completion, reports The Sunday Business Post.
Jacob Fruitfield has instantly recognisable iconic biscuit brands such as Kimberley, Mikado and Fig Rolls in its portfolio, while Valeo Foods, owned by Irish food and agri-business Origin Enterprises and British-based private equity firm CapVest, makes Squeez juices and Batchelors baked beans.
