Dispute over at Edmonton as Coke ups pay offer

Members of the Unite union at Coca-Cola Enterprises' Edmonton factory have voted to accept an improved pay offer.

The move finally brings the long-running industrial dispute at the plant to an end, Unite regional officer Wayne King told FoodManufacture.co.uk.

"The company made a new offer and we have accepted it. We both agreed not to disclose what the offer was."

Production at the factory has been disrupted since mid-September as striking Unite members - 100 of the 150 staff on site - have downed tools every Wednesday and Thursday in protest at the firm's initial "stingy" proposal of a 2% pay rise.
