A resolution to the pay dispute at Coca-Cola Enterprises' (CCE's) Edmonton factory now looks within reach after company bosses tabled an improved pay offer to staff.
Unite regional officer Wayne King told FoodManufacture.co.uk this morning: "The company made a new offer last night that we will be balloting our members on over the next few days.
"Stoppages we had planned for today and tomorrow have been postponed until we get the results of our ballot."
Production at CCE's Edmonton factory has been disrupted since mid-September as striking Unite members - 100 of the 150 staff on site - have downed tools every Wednesday and Thursday in protest at the firm's initial "stingy" proposal of a 2% pay rise.
